Arjun and I met at a mutual friend's wedding four years ago, and if I'm honest, our first real conversation happened because we were both hiding from the dance floor by the dessert table. He asked me what I thought was the least photogenic sweet on the spread. I don't remember my answer, but I remember laughing more than I had in months.

Our first actual date was by Lake Pichola at sunset — we'd planned to grab coffee, and ended up staying until the lights came on along the ghats. It became our place. Every time we visited Udaipur after that, we'd find our way back to that same spot on the water.

So when he asked me to come back to Udaipur 'just for the weekend, no big deal,' I should have known. He walked me down to the lake at golden hour, pretending to look for a good photo spot, and when I turned around he was already on one knee, completely out of breath from nerves.

The ring was the part that undid me most. He'd worked with Tesora's team for weeks beforehand, choosing a pear-cut lab diamond because I'd once mentioned — just once, months earlier — that I loved how it 'looked like a teardrop of joy.' He remembered. He always remembers.
